Hello,

I went on an extended bikeride through Dilworth and Myers Park today and I must say that both are very beautiful. Even though I saw a bunch of really big houses today, I was wondering if there are certain addresses / roads that are generally considered as the most exclusive in Charlotte. They might not even be in Dilworth / Myers Park. Any ideas (please only within Charlotte city limits)?

I also noticed that there are apartment buildings and condos in both areas. Some of these buildings looked like rather new developments and it makes me wonder if there is a trend of developers building their condos in these neighborhoods. As a homeowner, I certainly wouldn't like to see this happen.

Thanks,
Chris

Some of THE most exclusive areas are in Eastover and Myers Park - Colville Road, Cherokee Road, Queens Road. And don't forget Hermitage Road, where the Duke Mansion sits, The Duke Mansion - Historic Bed & Breakfast and Meeting Place

I would also add Morrocroft Farms off of Colony Road and the Quail Hollow Country Club area near Gleneagles

There are some gated communities in this area too.

Selwyn is pretty affluent.

When I think exclusive, it's Queens Road West.

Ballantyne & Piper Glen are the most affluent neighborhoods in the Charlotte city limit. Queens rd has quite a bit as well, but you cannot forget about the ones that I brought up.

The most affluent homes are situated in Eastover/Myers Park (Colville Rd, Hermitage Rd, Museum Dr, etc) and Quail Hollow Country Club.

I'd second all of the areas named, and add Foxcroft.

There are some huge mansions in Waxhaw/Marvin, not technically Charlotte but certainly the Charlotte area. I'm sure some of you know where I am talking about, between Waxhaw-Marvin Road and Providence (forget the name of that road). Some of the biggest houses in the area on large acreage.

I'd go with Queens Road West, Hermitage Road and Museum Drive. Definitely not Ballantyne - many town homes and apartments out there.

I believe this is where we were driving around when my mouth dropped wide open. Everything looked so majestic, stately, like old money.
