that so many people on this board are bitter and nasty? I'm not trying to start drama. I thought I'd be able to join this board and get useful information from people that have already made the move to NC but a lot of responses on here are sarcastic and bitter, which is of no use to me. If you don't have an answer to my question or you're annoyed by it then don't respond. I really don't get the point of ridiculing a poster for asking a question.

welcome to the charlotte forum, unfortunately get used to it. there are plenty of respectable posters with good info (even when someone doesn't search the forums before posting ) but there are 3 or 4 that I simply can't stand and typically turn a thread south (no pun intended) real quick.
the forum has good days and bad days.

That is pretty much why I hardly ever post anymore. It is like people come on here looking for an argument or a chance to judge others. I think a lot of cranky people use this forum. There are usually a few helpful people though. You just have to put up with all the nasty smug people to get to get to them.

To be fair, I think some folks are just trying to be humorous when they post stuff that can be read as mean-spirited. I sometimes see humor in things that folks post while others see it as being cranky or mean.

Also, I think that sometimes, newbies go overboard with how they title their queries (they over-exaggerate, for ex). . . and then it is just begging for someone to trounce them for being so overly-dramatic, lol. I see that in every forum - not just here on C-D.

There are also folks here who have very specific agenda and they will always show up to either discredit or promote their stance on an issue or pet project. However, that is what keeps things going - if everyone had the same opinion and didn't bring other perspectives or views to the discussion, it would be a pretty dull forum, lol.

TY Firefly. Sometimes I am pretty goofy, too, tho. When I get trounced, I often deserve it.

Hopefully you took my suggestion to do a search prior to asking a question as just helpful info, because it is.

If you'd read through the thread I referred to you would have known why you were given seemingly sarcastic responses by some people. The OP in the other thread came across as if his having a license elsewhere rendered his ability to drive as unquestionable anywhere else in the country. Several of the same posters in your threads got some attitude with that OP.

I've always thought that the conversations on this forum, as a general rule, are typically helpful and polite. Especially compared with way too many of the other forums.

Just FYI, it's not just here. I frequent some different special interest forums and you have the same thing. I think it is the security of being anonymous and being out of reach of a good backhand. This time of years always the worst. Everyone is tired and bored from being indoors. Either learn to ignore them or outwitt them!
Good Luck
