What is the closest area in Charlotte near Concord
Hello I'm relocating the NC for a job in Kannapolis/Concord however I do not wish to live in the city I work which is Kannapolis and Concord. What part of Charlotte is closest to this area. I believe its the northeast part of Charlotte. I'm also looking for nice, clean, safe apartment complexes in that area. Any recommendation would be great. Thanks.

The university area is closest and there are many good rental places near there. Just make sure to ask here first before you rent because there are some areas near there that are not very nice.

Since you will be working in Kannapolis, consider apartments around Concord Mills it is not located in Concord proper but at the edge with only a few miles from city limits of Charlotte.
You will be around lots of various shopping and eating options too.
Look into Bexley Village and Circle at Concod Mills.
This way your commute is shorter.

Thanks for all the feedback it's helped narrow it down for me. Can anyone tell me what they think of these areas...
Ivy Hollow Apartments 4920 Tanager Park Drive Charlotte, NC 28269
Links at Citiside Apartments 5005 Community Cir. Charlotte 28215
Hunt Club Apartments 100 Heritage Point Road, Charlotte 28262.
Basically what I'm looking for is a nice area for a single female w/ dogs somewhere in Charlotte close the Concord/Kannapolis which is where I will be working as a social worker. Due to the nature of my job I don't want to live in those cities. I want to live near where I will be working but also I want it be an even distance from Plaza/Midwood area.

I think Concord/Kannapolis might surprise you. Check out the Afton Village area of Concord. IMO, this particular area of Concord is flat out BETTER than MANY parts of Charlotte (mainly because comparable parts of Charlotte are more expensive). It is a planned community of nice townhomes (2-3 bedrooms) starting at the $130,000s. Residents there enjoy having restaurants and a neighborhood YMCA (very similar to the Baxter Village concept in Fort Mill). I was just there shooting a little basketball at that YMCA in Afton Village, and I must say that many of the homes within the village looks like the 1st Ward area of uptown Charlotte. It was strange seeing such a thing near I-85 in Concord (of all places). Clearly, Concord is now taking a few notes from Fort Mill (Baxter Village) and Huntersville (Birkdale Village).
Afton Village is certainly the newest of the three (many home sites have not been built yet) but IMO, it will most likely become the best of the three. Again, check it out if you get the chance. I did today and I was VERY impressed.

Yes I like Concord too but the OP said she doesn't want to live where she works as she's a social worker ie assume doesn't want to bump into her clients in the grocery store etc

I gotcha. However, due to commuting patterns, meeting family/friends, and the overall traveling nature of this metro area (especially Concord/University City area of Charlotte) there's a good chance that Charlotte might not be far enough away. Good plan though, but you might find yourself spending extra on gas with very little results. A pair of dark shades and a blonde wig would be much cheaper.
That said, the Mallard Creek area of Charlotte is nice and has quite a few college aged folks. This might be your best bet. Good luck!

Hunt Club is pretty nice and safe area. It's pretty close to campus so there are a few college students living out there if that's okay with you.
