Comparing Matthews,Weddington and Huntersville....

- Lowest property taxes

- Best schools...does school choice depend on where you live specifically? I hear that in Cary,Nc (wake county) schools are by choice and not by specific zoning according to neighborhood.

- Lowest crime

- Best neighborhoods in the under $300,000 range

- Which feels most suburban?

- Which has newer construction homes

- Which area has the least apartment complexes and strict zoning standards? The least section 8 if any?

- Which is closest to Trader Joes,Whole Foods,Costco and upscale shopping?

Your feedback is appreciated ! Thanks for the opinions...

As an equally relevant follow-up, what is your favorite color? I don't recall the OP asking about proximity to job centers. But this is the reflexive answer to all such posts: "Where are you driving to?!?!? Do you have a job yet?!?!? blah blah blah."

The correct answer to most of the questions in the OP is: Weddington.

Definately Weddington for almost every question. Your upscale shopping would be in the Ballantyne area. Trader Joe's is about 6 miles away, but the Whole Foods is opening up at South Park - a good distance away.

The three town are not close together. Huntersville is in a totally different area. Having seen these questions many times, it begs the question of where the job is. Sometimes the correct answer is someplace not mentioned.

And if it does, unless OP is into Reno, most likely will not want it - when it can have nicer a nicer house under $300k in Mathews (about 15 mins away).
Of course Mathews also has higher property taxes...

agreed... or even look at 28173 (Waxhaw) if you're willing to come out to Union County and look at Weddington.

but there are other areas that may have more like Waxhaw, which borders Weddington
yes schools are by where you live unless you chose private, Weddington address can put you at either Marvin Ridge Schools or Weddington schools.

I live in Waxhaw and it feels suburban to me you are close to all types of things and depending on what you are used to a place like Southpark doesn't seem that far, but of course it depends on each individual

Default Matthews/waxhaw

The Matthews area has a great elementary school. Also there are parts of Matthews that are Union county and so the property taxes would be better. its a very cute community. Also Wedding ton is nice but can get pricey, Waxhaw is very large so it would be easy to find a home there. Depending on what part of weddington you can be very close to the nicer blakeney/ballantyne area within minutes yet get a home that isnt right on top of your neighbor. Waxhaw and Matthews would be my personal pics.
