Looking for a fun place to listen to live music. Not a big club. I like Classic Rock-Pop. Also, I am 40, so age appropriate.

Evening Muse is my favorite place for live music in Charlotte. I love it because it is so intimate and casual. You can meet the performers because they literally have no place to hide! I think a lot of their schedule is local musicians - I can't vouch for them. I tend to go when it is someone I know who is touring. Have had some great nights there. OTOH, if it is someone that might seem interesting I search Youtube for videos of that artist to see if I like the music.

I looked at The Evening Muse site and noticed that some tickets (Sundats, Mondays and Tuesdays) require advance ticket booking. I clicked on the $ sign link and it took me to a page on this site Queen City Music: The Music Scene in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This seems to be the mother lode for live music in Charlotte. For a city the size of Charlotte, there seems to be relatively few venues. I guess that Charlotte is just not into music. Pity.

So... one click, one (non-definitive) site, and Charlotte *as a whole* "isn't into music". All righty-then.

Seems that way but I'm hoping to be convinced otherwise. Music is part of the stuff of almost everyone's life. It just has to be available in Charlotte. It's just hiding, I guess.

There are currently two threads on this subject running. Thre is this one and another for Jazz. I have so far, not seen a ny "definitive" sites, venues or tour lists published. Now I am sure that the big name bands all come through Charlotte and, while these bands are great to see, the threads are looking for smaller, and more intimate venues to hear music. So far neither of them has thrown up a "definitive" listing of live music in Charlotte. The best one I know of right now is the one I stumbled upon today.

If you know of websites that list this kind of information, then it would be very nice to see it published.

Clearly I do not expect Charlotte to match London UK where on any given night it is astimated that there are 1000+ acts on stage across the city but I would like to find 10-20 bars or pubs that have live music in the evenings.

A good jazz piano bar would also be welcome as would several blues venues or 60s, 70s, 80,s rock concerts. In fact, anything.

I am absolutely not knocking Charlotte as it will become my future home in a year or so. I am looking for some fun places to hear music and maybe dine too. Surely there's a website somewhere that lists this.

I just googled live music website in charlotte and tons of sites popped up.

Charlotte isn't Austin, TX or NYC but it has enough venues for it's size.

You are right. Google throws up loads of sites. That's its job. However I only saw a few more venues than were on the single site I posted. The Fillmore being the most notable.

I guess I've been spoiled or, I am just gonna have to look harder.
