Hi All,

My husband and I are seriously considering moving the Charlotte within the next year, we can't stand the desert anymore. Besides, I am from NJ so I know humidity well. That is not an issue at all. We are not looking for a house right off the bat, that will be after we get settled. We are looking for a nice 1 to 2 bedroom apt, that is safe, and quiet. We have no children, so schools are not an issue. Also, within a price range of in between 650 to 950 per month. With shopping areas within maybe 20 minutes.

Anyone know of any good complexes? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have been reading the forums, and must say there has been a wealth of information on here. However, I am looking to see if there is any renaissance festivals that are in the area.

Thank you for the help.

I wish you had posted earlier. I own a home, and there is a rental home next door to me that is 3BR/2BA for $900/month and the renters who moved out were morons....I hope that the people who just signed a lease are not morons as well....I would have loved to refer you to the place so I'd have some nice neighbors!

Anyway, we do have a HUGE Renaissance Festival:
Welcome to Royal Faires: Carolina

As far as rentals, there are nice apartment complexes and rental homes/townhomes in SouthPark, Huntersville, Uptown, etc that all meet your requirements. Are you concerned about a commute? If so, where will you be working?

You are probably making the best choice of your life getting out of Vegas. I live in North Vegas right now, and I think all of Vegas is one big DUMP, its dirty every were you go and the people are so rude, lets not even mention the driving or hwy system.
I moved to vegas from South FL 2 yrs ago,(originally from Long Island) bought a house, have had my house in vegas on the market for over a year, and now that its finially selling I've lost $60K because of the major decline in the market out here. Moving to Vegas was the worst thing I ever did in my life.

North Carolina is so wonderful, green, clean, beautiful, great place to meet nice people and raise a family if you choose too. Plus you can find a great rental home in Huntersville, Concord, or Uptown (since you have no kids).

We are moving to Huntersville in 1 month, and it can't come soon enough !!!

Plus since your from NJ there are so many NY NJ transplants in Charlotte, you'll feel right at home.

Thank you so muc h for the information. Also, I wish I had contacted you sooner trust me. However, the apts are just fine. I am not worried about commute. I do it out here everyday in Vegas, and did it in NJ so I am used to it.

Also, awesome link to Renassaince Festivals. I role play in the one out here in Vegas, and I want to keep doing that when we move.

Don't even get me started about Vegas. I call it California's wasteland. I would never raise a family out here, ever. I had originally had a job transfer out here, and now I am ready to get out. I know about the housing market. I have a friend who has been trying to sell her condo for over a year. Also, my husband is an engineer, and he is no longer doing work inside of Vegas itself. It is all the surrounding areas. The only good thing was winters, but we need to see green grass and trees again. Also, lakes, oceans, you name it.

Also, my husband is a huge Nascar fan so this will be the perfect place for him.

You will be able to find a 1-2 bedroom apartment in many areas of Charlotte at that price...have you visited yet? I would recommend visiting, looking around and deciding where you feel most comfortable...also, I would also suggest trying to stay reasonable close to where you will be working. You wouldn't want to be living in Huntersville while working in Ballantyne.

Default Jersy transplant in Charlotte

I am also a Jersy transplant now in Charlotte. I lived in the South Jersy area. I have been here for 3 years. I live in the University area North of Mallard creek. This area is very quiet, affordable and close to shopping and the highway system. I love it here alot better than Jersey and to me it is not really that humid here. Good Luck in your move
