One resource I use is Run For Your Life's website. Their stores are great, too. They really help you find the absolute best shoe.

I'm not sure where you will find a list of upcoming charitable run/walk events...but I do know that my family and I will be out again at the 2007 Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure on October 6th. We would love to have you and anyone else out there join us!

As kmway mentioned, the Run For Your Life website is a great resource for local races. I also check active.com and activezach.com. Run For Your Life covers the majority of races, but you'll sometimes find an additional race or two on one of the other two sites.

You'll be in good company, as a lot of runners show up to these races each week. The smallest crowd I've been in has probably been in the 250-300 range, and a few of the races I've been in have had over 1000 people. It's a lot of fun, and all the better if it helps a good cause!

There is a walk for obesity at the end of September, one is sponsered through Concord and one through Presby in Charlotte. They are taking donations and walkers.
