REMC or Duke power for electric, and Charter Communications for internet. Where I live there are no other options.

My parents live in Denver, NC and they have Energy United as their power company and AT&T U-verse for phone/cable/internet. They had Charter before AT&T U-verse came around. I think U-verse is still only avaliable in a very limited area of Denver right now.

The posts in this thread are eye-opening; I didn't realize we had other options. I guess it's going to depend on the area where you decide to live.

In my n'hood, we have Duke Energy for electric, AT&T for phone and internet, Charter for cable and internet and, depending your your southern exposure, you can get DirectTV and Dish for Satellite (each one requires a different clear sight-line.) My n'hood doesn't have natural gas, but some neighbors rent propane tanks (though I'm not sure of the vendors.)

We had Charter cable and internet for 3 months when we first moved to Denver and rented an apartment. While the internet was nice, I highly dislike all cable companies. We went with DirectTV for satellite TV and AT&T for internet (in a bundle with a land line) when we moved into our house. I've been pretty pleased with DirectTV's customer service.

I am not happy with Charter, but for internet in my area (in Lincoln County), there are no other options. We have Country Cable at our mountain house. I am very happy with them.

Mind my asking what you're paying a month and for what level of service package?
