Now that's funny.
She could probably go to prison for that today.
In there with murderers, rapists, and Martha Stewert.

Exactly. Schools have to follow the USDA regulations as well and kids bring lunch to school missing quite a few of the requirements. No problems there.

Years ago, when I first moved to NC, I found a preschool program for my daughter. At open house, they advised us that we would not be allowed to bring in outside food, and it was all provided for a fee, because it was mandated by the state. I thought, and still do, think that is the craziest thing ever. I don't need the state telling me what to feed my child. I immediately withdrew her from the program, and entered her into another, where she ate a home packed lunch every day (which was, by the way, in the same state... but somehow not mandated there, too???)

You should try it, it's HIGHLY entertaining. Regardless of your political affiliation. Today was about Michelle Obama's lunchtime task force.

I found Rush very amusing during the Clinton/Gore era (Algore!), but he destroyed whatever credibility he had from 2001-2008.

Like the majority of neoconservatives, Rush is intellectually dishonest and inconsistent; party affiliation and personal gain drive him.

I agree the gov't shouldn't be as concerned with kids' lunches, but the rules are really there to protect the most vulnerable. It was horrifying what some of my kids would come to school with, food-wise, and many were malnourished. The problem arises when people take things too far and decide that Anna's lunch of ham sandwich, juice and grapes isn't healthy enough. The focus should be on the kids whose parents either can't afford to provide proper nutrition or are too stupid to feed their kids properly. (I.e. Twinkie and Coke)
