Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone from Charlotte can confirm that these directions that I got from Google Maps are the best way to get from your city to Surfside Beach, SC. My husband is going to Charlotte for a job interview (I'm not sure the exact location where he needs to go, so I put in DT CLT as my starting point) and then needs to head to Surfside to take care of his ailing mother. We know the way down from Raleigh, but we're not sure about the best way to get there from Charlotte.

Here's what Google tells me:

Take I277 SW to exit 1B to I77 South towards Columbia

Take exit 16 A to I20 East towards Florence

Take exit 141 A (on the left) onto I95 North towards Fayetteville

Take exit 170 to merge onto SC 327 S towards Marion, SC

Turn left onto East Palmetto Street to US 76 E

Exit onto SC 576 East

Slight right onto US 501 South

(We know the rest from 501 )

----------------------------

Do these directions make sense? Or, if you have an alternate route, please let me know.

As always, thanks for your help!

My parents live right near there, we've gone a few times, but from Indian Trail....the directions you have from google take you way out of the way. I did the directions from Charlotte on Mapquest and it gives the way we go from Indian Trail....the route 151 it has you go on is a GREAT wide open 4 lane road, nice speed limit. I don't know if the link will work, but here it is, it's a nice drive.

Thanks, joanchris2000. The link worked just fine!

I had to laugh at the name of this street: "Van Lingle Mungo Blvd." I mapped it to make sure it was real and wasn't something made up by mapquest.
