Also, its a much different experience (IMO) watching a game in Ft Mill vs. watching one right in Downtown w/all the landscape in the background....I hope no one takes offense to that, but there's alot of truth to it.
Well being's that I'm going to be relocating to North Carolina soon to the Concord area I agree. That's a good distance to travel that I would definitely be more willing to go to more games if there was a stadium much closer. I'm sure many people feel the same way.

I love the idea of having the skyline right over the outfield wall. Just a great look. It's a common practice these days when building a new baseball stadium. The Pittsburgh Pirates started that trend and perfected it. I think the Charlotte skyline would be a nice backdrop from inside the stadium.

As a life long Pirate fan I know first hand what a baseball stadium with the city skyline does for attendance.

The wife and I went to the Kannapolis minor league team last year for 4th of July Fireworks due to the distance it takes to drive from Concord to see the Knights. Not sure if an Uptown stadium will bring us in to see a game more but we would probably make it a dinner/baseball game night instead of just a baseball night when we do go.

I do have a solution if that scenario happens sooner than we think, you can rebuild the Memorial Stadium and Grady Cole Center site into a stadium for MLB and maybe you can convert the Charlotte Knights Stadium into possibly a soccer stadium suitable for a MLS franchise, just a thought!

What is the Charlotte Knights winning record?
If it is good, I hope they do not get the Uptown curse...

It hardly looks worth the enormous amount of money they are demanding from the taxpayers.
