OK, I know that this sounds like a weird question, but my wife is doing a report for a class she is taking and needs to visit a cemetery that has graves from the late 1850's to collect data. She was given 2 that she could visit but one is in Huntersville and the other is further away than that. She would like to be able to find one closer to Indian Trail (as would I).
Thanks in advance.

A good source to check is at Find A Grave - Millions of Cemetery Records and use the search features on the left side of the screen. That will allow you to get a list of cemeteries in Union County, if that's were you want to search. From there it's easy to narrow down to cemeteries in specific areas, i.e. Indian Trail, Matthews, etc. I will tell you there is a very old and large cemetery in Matthews, just off the Matthews Township Parkway at Monroe Road. There are plenty of very old grave markers there that are fairly easy to read.
