I've been there on the weekends and I thought it was pretty rowdy. I was there about a year ago with some friends. We left because it was too loud and crowded and we're too old for that. It was a sick, sick crime. I find it hard to believe it's his first offense. One doesn't just jump to that level of voilence. Maybe the first time he was caught. Could have been more than alcohol. He kind of looks like a juicer.

Sounds like the video shows Kingston simply talking to the girl ("leaning to speak to her") and then Gay going off the deep end. My oh my. Although all we know is what is being relayed, it doesn't sound like the tape shows Kingston "putting his hands on" Gay's girlfriend. With the description of the activities being what they are at this point, it would appear that Gay went psycho without provocation.

Well, I haven't been over there in two or more years and never on the weekend, either. So maybe my feelings about Ed's are not accurate for 2012. I do know Alan Cole, tho, and know he is very concerned about keeping a good reputation for his business. I was very surprised that his employees kept the doors open afterwards. That doesn't speak well of the employees and looks bad for Cole, as well (as owner).

I wondered if Gay has had an anger management issue in the past and would suppose the DA is looking into that.

Gay most likely didn't intend to throw the guy in front of a car. Sounds like he was rushing the guy outside and when made it outside the door, gave him a hard push/throw. In my mind, I see it as the classic guy getting thrown out of the bar motion.

For those who are familiar with the bar, what is the distance from the curb to the door?

The distance is the sidewalk entrance, plus one parking spot lengthwise... so around 15ft. Not exactly "out the door".

I go there quite a bit, and it is NOT really a "rowdy" bar, in fact, that's why I like it.

....one of those wrong place/wrong time things...

Only a matter of FEET. A few YARDS.

After this, I believe I would give up the few parking spaces at the front, and put a brick fence of some type around the front and side of the building.

it has been printed several times that Alan Cole himself were at the bar, would he not have been the one to take charge and close the doors?
even after he chased after the guy , spoke to the police , it would only have taken him one minute to give the order .

seems to me that he threw his employees under the bus , so to speak.

I say this as someone who is very close to the situation also.

as an aside , small world that so many of you know this bar.

Wow Ani. Thanks for the photo. I was think the same as Raz, until I saw the photo, and he really had to go out of his way to throw this guy into the street. Manslaughter at a minimum obviously, but more likely 2nd degree murder after seeing that picture.
