I promise I am not trying to take a dig at you. You are as welcome here as anyone else I just think if you notice the way other realtors tend to offer info here you'll see what I'm talking about.
I really don't want to see this thread hijacked so I'm not going to go on and on with examples of things you have said that may have put people off to make my point. Though it is always worth noting one of the hardest things about writing, whether online or by longhand, is to convey ones emotional intent or stance when we "say" things. Hopefully we've just all misunderstood one another and things can improve from this point.

I'm the wife to yrgm. I would like to thank everyone for their opinion. I am actually used to only communicating to my childs teacher via email and/or phone and this does not concern me. That is how our school does it. I prefer email because most of the time the teacher replies back within a few hours and I'm not messing up my dayand my 2 years old schedule sitting at home waiting for the phone call from the teacher. Altough, I have been very lucky not to have a major concern which may need more than an email or phone call. As far as administration, trust me it's no picnic at our school in NJ. I don't think it could get any worse at New Town. At New Town, are you allowed to bring in cup cakes for birthdays, do they have class parties for holidays, if their is a book fair does the home room mom place calls to other moms to volunteer? Those are just some questions I have. I do try to volunteer as much as I can. Honestly, IMO i would prefer to have amazing teachers over an administration as long as the "not so good" administration does not affect the morale of the teachers and students. If that should happen then parents need to get involved as much as possible to fix the problems right away. My son will be starting New Town with in 2 weeks. He's in second grade and we'll keep an open mind about everything. Thanks again to everyone as the positves and negatives do help.

I'm done...
I won't take this any further. Your comment discounting my remarks was out of line. I was not bashing NTES, but only stating from my own personal experiences and the experiences of those that I personally know. If that hurts, well gee... In you sig you say you are a real estate agent, if that's not the case it may be wise to make a change there btw. I am not sure how you see me attacking you. You and many others on this board (some with real estate agent in their sig) regularly tout how Union County is nirvana. There's is nothing wrong with that, I suppose. I like it here too and have been a long time resident (as have several generations of my family) My only point is that there is always another side to the coin. The schools are fine to a point, but there are some warts. As an former employee of UCPS, you know this to be true. The neighborhoods are nice, but there are problems with infrastructure and growth. Taxes are low today, but are steadily increasing and are projected to surpass Mecklenburg in time. Crime is on the rise and many of the small towns are unable to keep up. Our county government has a long way to go to adequately represent the residents of the county. I think any relocator needs to know this. Many respond with "yeah, but in___(insert a state)____ it is much worse". Okay that's fine, but at least they know up front. I think people come to this board to get information, both good and bad, and I think that if we as a community show them the good and the bad, then it is up to them to make an educated descision to come here. To discount anyone's comments just because you don't happen to agree (or for what ever reason) isn't fair to the poster or people that come here. I've said more than I intended to, and now I'm done. Sorry to all.

I'm Done too!
I didn't realize by telling the relocators "don't worry" was such a slap in the face to you and for that I am truly sorry. I was trying to keep them from "fearing their move not bash you personally. As for being a Realtor I just felt that I have been honest from the get-go and just trying to offer info. I totally agree that both sides should be given in any situation and belive me I know how UCPS can have it's quirks-7 years was all I could take. I guess I really felt misunderstood and terribly hurt that my intentions were misconstrued. I really like this Forum. Guess it's just the "Mom" in me trying to keep everyone Happy-there's always 1 that gets hurt in the process. Sorry to all also.
Let's wish yrgm a safe trip!!

Okay, everyone needs to get back on topic. If anyone has a problem with a post, it needs to be reported instead of replied to. The Report a Post feature is the red triangle symbol.
Again, please get back to the original topic.

For the record, both jlat and nancy made it more personal than it needed to be. It seems Nancy made a simple comment that there are happy parents at NTES, and it swerved off track from there.
The important thing to remember is delivery is just as important as content particularly when what you write can be read,re-read, and printed.
It's best to ask what someone means before assuming it was made to be personal, 100% time assumptions are just wrong and a simple "clarify your point" would extinguish a lot of ill feelings that may result.
