Hi, I was searching yahoo travel reviews etc. when I thought, why not pop over from the Raleigh forum and just ask you all?!

I've got about 12 - 15 guys coming into Charlotte from Raleigh soon for golf and then a night out in downtown. Can you guys recommend a couple of hotels within easy walking distance to an abundance of bars?

Thanks!

The Marriott-Center City puts you right smack dab in the middle of uptown Just on the edge of uptown is my favorite, The Westin, which you could easily take a cab to in 2 minutes from most bars.

Thanks! I did see the Westin but I want to eliminate driving all together, I know what will happen otherwise... After a few drinks it will turn into getting a limo or something. The better I plan, the smoother things will go. So it sounds like to walk to all of the good local draught houses the Marriott is my best bet?
Thanks again!

Yep, that would be your best bet. They have a very nice sports bar down in the lobby

The Holiday Inn downtown is right beside Cosmos, Forum, and very close to Dixie's Tavern.

I just got back from Charlotte and I'd say go with the Holiday Inn downtown as it is very close to the bars (next door) and a pretty decent hotel.

I vote holiday inn, you can walk to all the good spots from there, and the best place to start, cosmos, is right across the road!!

Holiday Inn is a dump compared to the Marriott City Center. Marriott is where I put people from my company who are coming in for business. I have had immense problems with the Holiday Inn, both with rooms and the two large events I have hosted there.
