Really? Well, then Charlotte here we come!! haha.

NCMOMOFTWO are you from the NY area? How do you feel salaries compare? I've heard some great stories on here and through my travels and I can't wait to get down there. Especially if we can make similar salaries and the quality of life will be MUCH better. From the calculators it looks like we will be taking about a 20k-30k pay cut but our money will go much further...

we are from brooklyn, moved to staten island then NJ..dh has always worked in NYC and then in NJ...PM me if interested regarding salaries

but you can still live very nicely down here, however food shopping is definately more expensive than NY and NJ...my car insurance is cut in half, dh's income taxes are alot less, our property taxes well they are low, but always remember they are going to go up as we need more schools and such...health insurance is less here, home owners is less..we didnt pay for water in NJ since we were Well, here we have a water bill we are a family of 4 and were using our sprinklers 2x a week our bill for Aug was 70.00...now we dont bother watering..lol...anyway you get the jist...

we are going to register our cars so I will let u know about that..there is a car tax here where there isnt in NY or NJ but the car insurance is so much lower that it still doesnt make that much of a difference...from what I can say from my NY friends who are here is there biggest savings they have found compared to NYC is Property Taxes, Income Taxes, Homeowners, Car Insurance, and Utilities..

I know just from what i was paying in NJ my utilities also were cut in half...but I also downsized when we moved here...

good luck
