The proposed supermarket appears to be 49,200 square feet with a drive through pharmacy. That is typical of Publix's new stores.

I like this also right near my place. There is also a fresh market going in right down the road would be nice on the same road to have Publix, TJ, and Fresh Market. I miss publix growing up in So. Fla

I think that The Fresh Market on Prosperity Ch Rd opens next month.

Rumors of sites for additional Publix stores appear to be picking up.
One Publix manager told me that their goal was near 30 sites in the Charlotte area.

Publix will have more than 30 stores in the Charlotte region. As for reaching the 30-store goal mark, that can be obtainable by 2016.

I just drove past a truck on Hwy 49 this morning that was carrying the new entrance way sign for the Publix at Mint Hill Commons.
And yesterday I happened to be passing the new Fresh Market on Prosperity Ch Rd and they were attaching their signage to the front of the store...along with a banner that says "Opening 11/12"

Sorry Folks, but I sure do miss shopping at Publix in GA ! I just moved to Mooresville 2 months ago, and while shopping at Food Lion…I was quick to notice that the cashiers don't even put your bagged groceries back in the shopping cart. They leave them on the counter, and apparently, it is the customer's responsibility to place them in the cart for transporting to your car.
I also shopped at Harris Teeter…their system requires them to put the bags back in your cart.
However, I have not heard one employee say " May I take these to the car for you?"
This was always a nice gesture from Publix , whether you used it or not... and tipping was not allowed.

I am a family of 2, and Publix would always break down 6 packs of rolls, or meat to accommodate me. The other day at Harris Teeter, I asked the bakery to sell me 3 of the rolls in a six-pack, and they said that they "couldn't" do it. They had to call the manager
to resolve it….Very Frustrating !
