I wonder if though we do get a publix, will they carry the same thing they did in Miami?

I do miss the cuban bread and cuban products. Here the "latin" is all mexican food.

HT is my favorite grocery store. I especially like the one at Morrocroft. Just a nice experience walking in there. I shop specials everywhere I go, so I have no problem keeping my grocery bill down, regardless where I shop. Takes some effort, but it is like a game to me after all these years.

I was hoping Publix would carry things we don't ordinarily see here, such as the Cuban products that others have discussed on the forum.

I've found the opposite. I've never seen a Publix that was not well stocked, clean and little time spent on the checkout line.

Having been in several publix all the ones north of south florida do not have much of a selection of cuban products, no Cuban bread for instance.

Default Different products, different areas

Publix products differ even between Dade and Broward. I shopped in Broward, but took my mother to the grocery in Dade, and her store had far more Cuban products. They are so clean and well stocked. I really do miss them. Plus, since they are so big they have buying power, and will beat HT with prices. Keep us posted!

Coming from Florida, Publix is way better than any grocery store around here.

Don't mean to tell you so, but; TOLD YOU SO! Publix is looking near LKN first. I was part of their expansion into areas out of Florida, and if they mirror that approach; they will go upscale first. They usually buy their land whenever possible, giving them more freedom to build what they want.
As for the Cuban food, when we went to Spartanburg a few weeks back, I found just about everything we looked for. They did carry Cuban bread, but had run out. I can guarantee that their sandwich bars will kill any lunch traffic other groceries have.

You folks from south FL need to visit the Publix stores in SC and see if you still hold Publix in such high regard.
