Are home prices appreciating there? I am asking because my son bought a new home in Troutman 6 months ago and he has been told his home is worth $100,000 more today. I told him that the only way that could be true is "IF" you actually had a buyer willing to pay that amount. But I could be wrong and maybe the home prices there are on the rise. I think he should just enjoy living there instead of trying to make a profit at this time.

The area seems poised for tremendous growth. The downtown has potential.

I would say it is hard to say which way the development of the area will end up.

Nearby Mooresville is growing by leaps and bounds.

Default state park rd, Troutman, NC

Can anyone please tell me anything about the State Park Rd area in Troutman? I'm relocating there with my family -originally from Eden, NC. Is it a family-friendly atmosphere? any local sports teams for kids? What's Troutman downtown like? What's the State Park like? beach area? boat launch? how's the traffic? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

It's a nice town. Still sort of rural, but growth is inching up that way. Off-time drive into/out of Charlotte on I-77 is not bad at all, but rush hours are a headache.

Great little town. Lake Norman State Park is wonderful, great biking/walking trails, nice beach on the lake...

It's developing like crazy...someone mentioned Mooresville, in my opinion, Troutman will be the next town slated to grow big... so property values will probably continue to go up, up, up...

Kids sports teams...you'll probably have to go in to either Statesville, or Mooresville, like "SISA"-- South Iredell Soccer Association...etc. etc. but there are teams everywhere, they are all good organizations.

We are moving to Twin Creeks Estates, off of State Park road, from Statesville.

The park is great for biking and hiking. It has a boat launch that we have used to put our kayaks in. It's also one of the few public swim areas on the lake.

Although the traffic isn't bad now, it's growing fast and there are few roads.

I have lived here in Troutman almost all my life and I would have to say it's the best small town that I know of anywhere! People are friendly. We are growing quickly but there is still that small town atmosphere. We are almost equal distance to Charlotte and to Winston-Salem, so the larger cities are near but far enough away for less hustle-bustle. We are very near Lake Norman.
