I was just looking this up today myself. I've heard of Enzo's and Catapano's in Matthews and Indian Trail, but havne't been there to check them out yet.

How about other imported European food?
One thing missing when moving here from large international cities it is the lack of variety in international food...
However this is a small price to pay for the benefit of living in the beautiful Charlotte area!!!

Lowes Foods carries Pastosa Ravioli's imported from Brooklyn NY!!! They are the best... I used to go to their store all the time when I lived in Brooklyn!! What kind of imported foods are you looking for? Dean and Delucas has some gourmet imported foods. There is also a place called Pasta Provisions. I have not been there but have been told by others it's excellent: Pasta Provisions, Charlotte NC | Best Deli and Italian Food, Pasta, Sauces, Breads and Wines in Charlotte | 28207

Catapano's is gone, went under last year. Great place, but too far out to go to with any frequency, IMHO.

There are lots of international places. Look around Central ave, Albemarle Road, Sharon Amity, North Tryon, etc., etc. We may not have all the ethnicities represented, but many are.

I second D&D and P&P. I've also found some unusual items at World market. Mostly British but some others as well. You should also try Ferrucci's in Cornelius. That's where we go to buy ingredients for ante pasta. Pricey but worth it. I'm a NJ/NYC girl myself and I can honestly say, there's very little that's missing from Charlotte these days. You just have to dig around.

I second the person who recommended Pasta and Provisions. It's a small store on Providence Road and the food is great. The people who work there are also very friendly.

Great feedback. I will look into them. The family I have is around the Concord Mills area and they frequently travel through Huntersville. I am not too familiar with all areas but I will be looking into them. If anyone knows anything around the other areas I mentioned, chine in. :-)
