I think SAS does too - and Verizon as well.

So you know, while I support the theme of marriage as a union between one man and one woman, with equal fervency do I not support any measure that might regulate what a businessperson can and cannot do - including providing health benefits for those involved in domestic partnerships.

Why I support Amendment One:

Very simply, birth currently confers the Parent/Child relationship.

Because homosexual couples cannot produce offspring on their own, homosexual marriage will nullify the natural bond/relationship that a Parent/Child have - thereby conferring (or replacing) the natural bond/relationship between Parent/Child, with the State.
I'm not against gays adopting and I don't think it will nullify anything but I've always wondered why some want kids.
it reminds me of vegetarians who want Tofurky or veggie burgers.

Wow I never knew that. A verizon employee can put his girlfriend on his plan? That's nice.

When we moved here my then boyfriend, now husband, put me on his health insurance plan since I didn't have a job. He was able to do this through his company's Domestic Partnership policy.
This Amendment is not just about homosexuals, it's about everyone.
It's archaic and barbaric and I'm embarrassed to live in a state where it's even up for debate.

There was plenty there but the bond-by-birth statement was a great example of what's wrong with this pro-amendment thinking...and hypocrisy in general.

Welcome to NC. Plenty of embarrassing/close minded people here.

Take some comfort in knowing that this is clearly one of those issues that in 20 years you will be on the right side of history on. In the future, it will be shameful that people in the year 2010 still had this mindset.

I hope so. So far it's not looking good
NC - Election Results

I can't wrap my head around so many people voting for this. This effects children! I hope this truly is a generational thing. In the mean time, I'll be raising loving tolerant children.
