My home chirch is a MEGA CHURCH in Houston, TX, so Im much more used to large, African American churches.
Can anyone tell me what are some of the best and biggest African American churches in and around Charlotte.

Friendship Missionary Baptist is one of the larger African American Churches here. Friendship has an incredible outreach program, inspiring music, and a wonderful sanctuary. I love the stained glass windows there - Stained glass in the sanctuary of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte NC | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (hopefully the link works, you may have to poke around a bit to see the photos)

Mega large African American churches are not very common in Charlotte.

Most mega churches have folks of all races worshiping together.

If you decide to try something smaller and more intimate look at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church.

I love the spirit there, and the gospel choir is heavenly

a much smaller church (with no stained glass windows) is Mosaic.Mosaic Church / Home / Home

We are a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural contemporary church that is led by an amazing pastor...who happens to be a former Muslim that grew up in Kuwait. We are also part of the Mosaic alliance. (Erwin McManus)

If you want teaching that is contemporary and timely, please visit us. We meet at N. Mecklenburg HS. Times & directions are on the website.

Its not a african American Church its not a White church, but Central church of God has a Huge mix of people. Probably 30 to 40 percent is African American's. Music is jumping, and sometimes reminds me of African American churches.(Yes the white guy has been to them.) His preaching style is Loud and fast, and its Just JESUS JESUS JESUS.

Allow me to clarify:
#1) I'm looking for an African American Baptist Church.
#2) It doesnt have to be a MEGA church.. lol. But I would like to find a LARGE baptist church.
