Young people like loud. and, being "trendy"

However, that is why I suggested that the OP listen to sermons from each of the churches to see where she would fit the best.

Good Shephered UMC in Steele Creek area of Charlotte (near Carowinds in case you're unfamiliar with the Charlotte area). They have a great group of young adults! Sunday school at 10am, Services at 8:30, 10 or 11:30am.

I would also suggest connecting with Charlotte ONE. It's a great way to meet area young adults and also find out about other local churches.

Fluff it wouldn't hurt to pay attention to the words!

I'll throw a vote in for Elevation as well. While I'm not that fond of the rock concert approach, the kid has it spot on! I'm more of a traditionalist, but what the new trendy churches are doing is amazing. If that is what it takes to keep my kids involved, then I'm all for it.
Take the time and go online and listen to some of the messages Elevation post. I think you'll find what your looking for.

Thanks everyone who has posted a reply. As far as the other poster suggesting a Quaker church just because I am from Pennsylvania- thanks, I guess.

Is there a denomination/style preference? I'm Catholic and I just moved here by myself so when some friends asked if I wanted to join them at their church for Easter I went with it instead of spending it alone. We went to the monstrous Meck event at Verizon. I'm not a big church goer but I decided that wasn't for me and when I do go to church I need me some stand up, sit down, kneel, organ music rather than a concert. So that's one thing I'd consider - do you want "loud" as someone said or do you want old school? If you like that sorta thing - Meck seems very involved, social and has tons of people of all ages. St Matthew also seems like a good place.
