Two new "things" I noticed coming soon off Sardis Road.

Walmart shopping center, sign in the store front where a few failed places have been.
Last one was that Cuban restaurant Isla. The new restaurant says "R's Diner" coming soon. Wonder if it is any relation to the closed Rigas Diner behind that location on Monroe Road?

And, where Carino's used to be, they are fixing up that large store front to include patio seating. Looks nice, but my guess is, it's going to be an Olive Garden. No sign up yet.

Whatever they will be, nice to think of a future where all store fronts are occupied in 2012. We have a long way to go.

I wish them luck but I can't help but feel that this is just one of those locations destined to fail.

I am pretty sure the Carino's does have a sign up. Think it is a Mexican Restaurant.

Might be. That Japanese place has been there for a while. Tried it twice. Tried to be fair with a second visit. Personally, don't care to give them a third shot. But, I've heard others say they enjoy it. You just never know.

Are you talking about Sarku, or whatever it's called? One try was enough. Smells funky in there, and all the employees were giving this round-eye a weird look when I ordered take-out.

It's Sardis Road North, BTW, for those who didn't know.

There is a Healthy Home Market in The Galleria now. I wonder how that will do.

Are you talking about the Walmart being built on Independence and Sharon Amity?

Yes. both my visits were dine in. Once for Sushi and it was BOGO, once for "Hibachi".
Like I said, I don't like to write a place off after one visit. But, No thank you.
Healthy Home Market? I don't shop there, but, I know there's one in the Arboretum.
