Hello, I will be attending UNCC for graduate school in the fall. I will be moving with my boyfriend, who will be transferring his job to Charlotte. I've visited Charlotte before and loved it. We are looking for a 2-bedroom apartment with a budget of $1,200. We have no kids and no pets. We'd like to live in a suburban area, preferably no more than 10 miles from UNCC. We both have cars that we'll be using in Charlotte but it'd be nice to be relatively close to public transportation. We currently live in upstate New York in a town where there are few apartment choices, which is why it's been overwhelming trying to search for a place in Charlotte. Any help would be appreciated!

Your options will be great with that budget and that radius. You should really come down and check out the area beforehand. You could live anywhere from downtown to Kannapolis with that budget and radius. There are dozens of neighborhoods within a few miles of UNCC will fit your needs. Just keep in mind that rental market is pretty hot right now. Lots of people moving here and lots of people who want to rent.

Your budget is great, so you should find something. Just know the rental market is really hot right now and sometimes you have to wait 6-8 weeks for an apt to become available, so lock something down pretty soon.

I would suggest you look to live north of the campus in general. I'll send you a link to my favorite place to recommend up that way.
