The teen, whose identity has not been released by school district officials, stands in the front row with her gown lifted waist high.
but you are right, it looks like she is either seated or about to sit down. Still, thought.... how do you do that by accident?
I have been sitting in a choir robe while playing the organ and noticed (a little late) that my robe was hiked up. Of course, I wasn't where anyone could see my legs at the angle and place where I was sitting, but I know it can happen.
I think whoever wrote that line you quoted was exaggerating to get everyone's attention.
I just hate to see this furor over something that most likely was not intended at all.
Just a shame the mother who complained had to make it a huge issue. Anyone offended by the potential "exposure" in that photo could very easily black it out.
I knew a girl who was humiliated in public over a rumor that got started while she was in high school, and she committed suicide. I always think about the horrific way it feels when you are 18 or 19 years old and have people saying things about you that aren't true and drawing conclusions that are inaccurate. Before that mother opened her mouth to make this into a federal case, she should have thought about the bigger picture, as it were . . . things aren't always like they appear at first glance.

Very few outside of the school would have heard about it if she didn't kick the dust up.

Yes, and I have family in that district and no one has YET to say a thing to me about it. It really should not have been blown into this kind of ridiculous "porn" thing. People are talking about "prosecuting." GOOD GRIEF.

why would SHE be prosecuted? Even if she did it on purpose, she didn't publish it. If it was accidental, certainly the person taking the picture and submitting it to the yearbook has an issue.
Back in the 90's we wore pants or something similar under there, guess now it's just the gown with nothing else including underwear? My times are vastly different.

The same accident that had the picture approved by the yearbook committee then approved by the faculty member then re-approved after proof of concept yearbook came through to approve full order of yearbooks. But yeah, it was all an accident
All I can think of is... She must of signed alot of yearbooks.

I have heard of this trend to go pantyless under a dress or skirt.
We know the girl-she used to live on our street. I cannot imagine she would deliberately expose herself.
The principle of LNHS called all parents yesterday evening and said that some people had expressed concern re a picture in the yearbook and that the school would corect/remove/replace (can't remember exact word) if they returned them.
She is clearly sitting down and is holding something ( a certificate) in her hands. She does not have her gown up around her waist. My son says the pic just looks like she is showing too much inner thigh.
I cannot believe this story has made it across the pond into the Daily Mail.
Is there something more going on here?
Was it really "a concerned parent" who called reporters?
