I'm looking at some houses in the Stonehaven Neighborhood off of Rama Rd. What are your opinions about the area. The only drawback I have found is that it is located in East Meck. school zone but a great location.

Some how the "S" did not go through for the title of Stonehaven.

Stonehaven is a great older established neighborhood with a really good commute to uptown. It is also convenient to South Park Mall and other south Charlotte ammenities.

In addition, East Meck High School is making gains in recent years and many people actually like the school. But if you were concerned about sending your kids there you could put them in a magnet school

The schools will hopefully be better when they knock down the silver oak apts at Monroe and Idlewild. Great neighborhood, low crime, lots of families, convenient location.

We lived in Stonehaven for 12+ years and loved, loved, loved the neighborhood and the pool. We also loved Rama Road Elementary. But we didn't like McClintock, which is probably a much better school now that the old principal is gone...

We lived in the East Meck zone, but sent our kids to the Language Immersion magnet for K-8. East Meck actually has a very good IB program - it's a school within a school for the highest achieving kids. We moved before our kids got to that age, but would have been fine with East Meck as long as they were in IB.
