Well, the high schools gained a little room this year thanks to the opening of Mallard Creek High. The charter school is in its first year so hard to give any feedback.

There is a web site you may want to check out:

ReDir

It allows you to view every town/city schools from public schools to Charter schools. It'll go over class size, where their funding comes from per child and where it is used. It covers student performance scores in relation to the state and district. It also coveres the quality of teachers weather they are nationally board certified, have advance degrees and how long they have been teaching.

It's a valuable source of information!

because of the state of CMS schools, I think you'll find waiting lists at the Charter Schools. Besides Lake Norman Charter, you may also want to look at Lincoln Charter: Lincoln Charter School - A Challenge Foundation Academy
They offer k-12. This year, they finished construction on (and opened) a 48,000 sf middle/high school building and will be graduating their first Senior class of the Denver Campus. GO Eagles!!
