I'm fairly new to the area and am looking for people to play pickup soccer games with... It's been a while since I've played so I'm not looking to jump into a rec league right away but I haven't had much success looking online (craigslist, socster, meetup.com, etc).

Anybody have any suggestions as to where I can find pickup games to get in on?

Good Luck. I have a buddy who was at the national level in US Soccer. He believes we have by far the best fundamental, core players in the universe, but we lack the superstars that get that way in the sand lot. Why, soccer is way too organized here..great fundamentals and very solid player, but no one is hot dogging and doing the cool stuff. Compare to B-ball that is played on every corner, unsupervised, and compare the results.

hope you get some answers, just thought it was interesting looking for pick up game....where the true stars are born!!

What do they say, "Bend it like Beckham" or something like that!
