...look more in Concord ... A better chance of finding a 600-700 a month and be withing and hour of Statesville.
true about the cost of rent. However, it'll still be a 45 min- 1 hour commute for the hubby. I live in Denver and worked in Statesville for a while and I had to budget an hour commute to make sure I clocked in on time. Had a co-worker at the same place who lived in Concord and she said her commute was the same amount of time.
We could do 45 minutes if the price of the rental was right, but of course we'd rather keep it under 30. It look like Mooresville is our best bet. CANNOT wait to come out there and check it all out! So excited about the move
Thanks everyone!
I commute from Statesville to Ballantyne. My drive is about 40 minutes before 7am and 1hr+ on the way home.
I spend about $70-100 in gas a week with a small car. Just a thought.
You would like Mooresville and I am pretty sure there are some town homes there you can rent in your price range. I think after some time here you'll find there's not much you would go further than North Charlotte for. There's North Lake Mall and Concord Mills for mall shopping and Mooresville has some nice places to shop for your "weekend shopping".
What about if we went into Charlotte?? Would the commute to Statesville be horrible?
I've made it from South Charlotte to downtown Statesville in an hour. But when there's a lot of traffic on Rt. 77 it can take substantially longer. I believe my trip back to Charlotte took an hour and a half. I think Mooresville would be a good place to live. The nice thing about Mooresville is that you're above a lot of the Lake Norman congestion on Rt. 77. Troutman would be another nice community to have a look at.
I believe I would look in the Mooresville area, as others have suggested. Davidson and Corneilus (south of Mooresville) is getting more pricey by the week and Huntersville has possibilities.
Thank you everyone for your replies! And please DM me if anyone knows a good realtor
