Some of us consider our animals part of the family. They are living breathing things not something to just be dumped.

This is funny stuff......I am so allergic to kitties, so I have no emotional attachment to them. Not like my min dachshunds....my former landlord asked for a 600.00 deposit. The landlord I have now is a dog lover, hence no deposit for them, but my rent is high, so maybe thats why. If you are attached, keep looking. Best of luck.

Please do not misunderstand. I love animals and most people's pets. Our own cats pretty much ruled our household for their 19 year lives.

However liking animals is one thing but renting condos is quite another. This last is only about costs, percentages and profit. I never mix the two. Ever.

That's not what I said.
You took that and ran with it like a Kenyan marathoner.

My landlord is also a dog (and cat!) lover, and that's WHY he charged a deposit! He's lived with them, he knows the damage they can do. I'm very grateful I was able to pay it with no problem.
