News : Charlotte's "Lite" WLYT transforms into "all about variety" 102.9 The Lake | Radio-Info.com

So far I like the new station. Lite 102.9 was becoming too Top-40ish.

I suppose now this means K104.7 will be the sole Charlotte station to play nothing but Christmas tunes come October.

And that's a good thing. Did we ever need two stations doing that?

The radio industry sucks in general, but there are only about two good stations here that I've found. 95.7 and 99.7.

The only problem is that in the morning 95 has an annoying English DJ who doesn't seem to know that Fleetwood Mac is more than Buckingham, Nicks, Mick and the McVies. Also, 99 has Hick Boy and Billy Bob (or whatever their names are) in the AM who are also terrible.

They needed to make a change, as the format had become tired and they were down in the ratings. Now they supposedly have more variety playing all sorts of music.

The ride is the best radio station in town. Great promos too

I like the music just not the DJ in the morning. Although, sometimes the cuts are a little too deep. But you never hear some of the stuff they play on any other station.

Tuning in to WKRR 92.3 in Asheboro is a time trip. That station plays the same music that it did in 1984 when I was in high school. (70s-80s rock) Just amuses me a little to think a station could last THAT long without a format change.

I switched to Pandora and Slacker a year ago and never looked back. Commercials at the minimum...

In my Jetta, I have no way of listening to anything other than the radio without shelling out some money. So I am stuck with The Ride and The Fox until it dies.
