OP, I know it's important for you to be near your family, but have you considered that perhaps, no matter where you live, there will only be 1 home? I say that in the vein of pointing out that there is nothing wrong with moving someone else, and seeing if you like it, especially if you are younger. The good thing is, if you don't like where you live, there is nothing wrong with going home. but just keep in mind that if you decide to just keep trying different places, the result is going to be the same.
... I have been reading that unemployment is high and I certainly would not move without a job! I currentlky work in hospitality so that would probably be my best bet to get my foot in the door...
Have you looked on your company's internal postings to see if any openings exist in the area? Seems as if that would be your first step....
I would be moving on a salary of about $38,000 most likely. I am 27 sinlge female so some good restaurants, bars, coffee houses, outside activities, and safety are important to me. Is it feasible to find a decent apartment with lowish rent that is safe and where would I look? How is the job market?
I know this is vague but any and all information that may pertain to my situation would help me out alot. I have looked at several cities and constantly feel like I can't narrow it down. THANK YOU!
It's possible given what you said, but will be tough. My recommendation is for you to look in the Raleigh-Durham area, The Triangle. It sounds as if it might be more what you are looking for and different enough from ATL to make it worthwhile.
