Default Any scoop on new Sam's Club in Mooresville?

Does anyone have real info on the Sam's that is coming to Mooresville?
Other than the articles that talk about the rezoning back in May, I can't find any information about timeline, a site plan, traffic changes, etc. Just wondering if anyone here is involved in the project or knows where to find details.

My decision about where to open my store depends on what's happening in that area.

They're building a QT there right now, and it's going in fast. I've also heard there will be a 260-unit apartment complex. That end of Mooresville is going to look totally different a year from now.

Yes, it'll suck just as much traffic wise soon enough! Yay.

Yes...not looking forward to that much at all.

I am sure the neighborhoods behind that area on that stretch of the lake aren't too thrilled either.

Outside of school release times at LKNHS after the light at Target the traffic isn't too bad...soon that will change!

I have not heard anything more about Sams. I know that Huntersville has a Costco coming in, so not sure if that changed any of the plans for development.

Really? That's the first I've heard of that.

Did just see this from a couple weeks ago saying Costco won't be going in the Langtree development, but no mention that it would be going in Huntersville (although it does make it sound like they want to put one somewhere in the area).

I don't believe Huntersville zoning would make it easy for this to happen. Costco should instead put one over by Northlake.

Let me see if I can find the article that referenced a Huntersville location. I think I read about it earlier this summer, so it was something fairly recent.

Since moving to this area a couple of years ago and working here for the past several years, I was always amazed by the lack of warehouse stores like Sams and Costco in this entire general area. With as much population as there is to pull from I would have figured there'd be more than just a BJ's in Mooresville.

I'm more excited about the prospect of Costco than I am Sams.

Costco has 2 stores in the Charlotte metro and Sam's has 5. I don't understand why there needs to be more than 2 Costco's...

I also heard that Sams club was coming! Something about being behind the QT there building now by Morrison plantation maybe. Also there are putting a Hobby lobby in behind Verizon next to Lowes.

Well we don't necessarily need them, but Charlotte does seem to have less club stores than some other similar sized cities. IMO the Huntersville area is probably the most logical place if a new one was to go in. For the many people that live in Huntersville the closest club stores are either the BJ's in Mooresville or the Sam's in University.
