Is location shooting for film or TV happening in the city or town where you live?

Homeland used Kings Mountain City Hall for the 7th District police station in DC in episode 7 of the upcoming season. That's some extra money for the city.

Yes, there have been multiple filmings for Homeland in Mooresville. Specifically in the downtown area, but I know residents who have been asked for exterior shots of their home and several streets were blocked off a few weeks ago.

YEP, Mooresville has been a hot bed for filming lately! Not only Homeland, but other productions as well. There's a few casting companies on Facebook that update info & requests for talent for extras.

They were filming at the intersection of Trade & Tryon in Uptown a week or so ago - never saw so many people in suits standing around on the street corners before. Was kind of a pain dodging all of them to get across the street, but still kind of cool too.

Saw them filming Homeland on Trade & Tryon in front of the waterfall. Does Charlotte look like DC?

Yes, If you are just thinking of tall buildings. But then any city with tall buildings would look like DC. Most people have never been to DC so it really doesn't matter. L'Enfant plaza in the show looked nothing like the real L'Enfant Plaza in DC.

DC doesn't have skyscapers. They do have tall buildings. If a 15+ story building isn't tall then maybe I need to re-examine what I think of as tall.
