Not really... The hide zone was real small and the utility pole with the light was the safety... with 10 to 15 kids it was more like tag once the seeker left the pole to chase a kid. We knew all the hiding spots anyway...

We also raced bikes down a steep hill at night...

I grew up in a special place and all our parents used to go to the VFW/Legion as well.

You have a very limited view of kids & teens. My kids' friends are across the age spectrum, and everyone benefits - the olders develop compassion & understanding, the youngers get glimpses of life issues coming up for them. They connect over their passions and interests, and age doesn't play a huge part in friend selection.

13 YR OLD @ 1AM, seems to be the first part of the problem. The second part is a 17 yr old with a gun.
The third part is where did he get a gun?
