Arkansas-based Winstream Corp. is planning to hire 100 more workers at its Matthews call center. The telecommunications company has about 1,300 employees in the Charlotte area.

^ Not if you're on their call list. I just got rid of Windstream. They kept calling multiple times per week, trying to upsell me.

Who uses a land line these days? Isn't that their primary revenue stream?

I do for my alarm system. I also have Windstream DSL. I have the phone and DSL bundled. I get unlimited domestic calling. I will usually call my parents using the home phone instead of my cell phone.

You should look into google voice. Great service and FREE. Quality is great!

This is a rehash of the same news they put out every couple of months. If you drive past their location in Matthews, the hiring sign has been up for a few years now and all it says is hiring Bilingual applicants.
I think they must get kickbacks or something to keep saying they are hiring.

I have that on my cell phone. I use it for free texting. Plus, I had my old cell number moved over to Google Voice so I don't need to tell people my new number. I don't have my new number memorized yet either so I can still give out my old number if needed..
