In Florida used to go to a couple of places, Natural Chicken Grill & Chicken Kitchen. Posted links to the websites for reference.

Natural Chicken Grill

Chicken Kitchen

Both served grilled chicken breast chopped with rice, black beans, pita bread and various combinations.

Several menu items where American Heart Association approved.

Was wondering if people know of similiar type places here in Charlotte?

I'd say The Roasting Company might be the closest thing to what you're talking about.

Zoe's Kitchen might fit the bill. More of a Mediterranean focus, but plenty of healthy stuff.

Oh man, now you've done it!!! I haven't had their rice and chicken with Jaco sauce in quite some time. Their corn bread is sooooo good too. Yup, I'm gonna have to stop there this evening for sure now.

It's been a while since I've been there but this

chicken and black bean combo con queso

will be on the menu some time this week. I was at Park Road Shopping Center yesterday around lunchtime and couldn't think of anything good to eat over there so I went home. Duh.

Roasting Company is one of my favorites.

Pio Pio and Anntony's are good as well.

Not grilled chicken, but Gennaros has awesome chicken. Get the shrimp stuffed avacodo too.

Forgot about Cluckers; Another favorite, although they're now called "House of Athens" and moved about a half-mile down 51, towards 485, in the same shopping center as Einstein Bros Bagels.

Also decent is Akropolis Cafe in the Ballantyne Quad. Everything tastes like it came off of a Cisco truck, but you could do a lot worse.

I would not normally recommend mall food, but I think the Bourbon Chicken and the Pepper Chicken at the Big Easy in North Lake mall are very good. This is grilled chopped up chicken so you don't even have to pick it off the bone.
