So...when is the job interview?
I am in my hotel in Charlotte right now, I had a pick of 3 jobs in the Charlotte area, I decided on one in Rock Hill, SC interview is tomorrow morning. So far Charlotte is very nice from what I have seen, people are very friendly and laid back. I saw a little of the area, ate at Mert's Heart & Soul, was excellent.

Rock Hill is a little further, but the taxes are better in SC, have not been paying any for years living in FL, not sure yet, I may just commute if I get the job, but I have leads all over.

It sounds typical, and you can live pretty well in Charlotte on that income

You would live in SC and commute to Charlotte to avoid taxes? Or did I misread that. If people want to enjoy what all CLT has to offer, they should pay the taxes...110,000 whether a crappy IT wage or not, you could be living the good life in the city. You should take a drive down Queens.

Anyone who doesn't want to live in this area called Myers park is nuts. Absolutely beautiful!!!!! Especially Freedom Park. Myers Park is my dream neighborhood to live in.

I'm with you.

Personally, I would not live in Rock Hill.

I can say that after discovering the Lk Norman/Charlotte area about 7 years ago, and visiting the area for long weekends to talk to people in general, my wife and I are looking to retiring there. Everyone we met were very informative, and friendly. Alot better than here in NJ. As a matter of fact many of the people we spoke with while exploring the area are from somewhere else and many of those are from the NorthEast. Speaking for myself and my Wife, we are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives in the Lk. Norman area...

I wonder, is the anti-yankee sentment in Charlotte any stronger than the anti-southerner sentiment up north, or the anti-rural sentiment in the large metro areas accross the country, or the anti-city sentiment in the rural areas across the country? I highly doubt it!
