If the number at the bottom of the main web page for City Data is correct, there are 1.45 million members.
Any guess on your part on how many of those users are in Mecklenburg and York County combined?

Not really, because there may be no way to get the correct answer, but an individual thinks that because they found 2 members in the same city (Gastonia), that it means those two members are the same person. Very poor logic it seems to me.
I'd guess there are literally many hundreds in the Charlotte area, maybe over a 1000 or more.
(say a 50 miles radius of Charlotte)
If we knew how many there were in the U.S.A. alone, we could divide by 50 and get a very rough estimate of the number of members per state.

Well, we have a lot of members on this forum, but the majority of them have not been active in the last two years or so.
I personally know a few members from around the Gastonia area, but none who actually live right in Gastonia.
Same for me, in all 3 counties. And those are only the ones I know.
So there must be several hundred, if not many more that are active.
And hundreds more not that active.
I have a friend who has made maybe 35 posts in over 2.5 years. That's pretty inactive.
HOWARD: did someone on another C-D forum heckle you about having 2 accounts or being a troll or something? Just report it to a mod. You don't have to put up with that.
I see you post on other sections of the forum - you would have no reason to pretend to be someone else, lol.
I personally know someone who posts here and is in the Gastonia area but more towards Denver . . . and then we have SB, who is also in the area . . . and another guy (can't remember his name right now) who has moved here from a different state but he doesn't post regularly -- wish he would post more often. And we also have a member from somewhere between Gastonia and Lincolnton. Now, those I know for sure are from around Gastonia.
You are right about a city like Denver. Not in Mecklenburg County but the Charlotte forum may be better for them, than the Western N.C. forums.
Just take a look at the Charlotte thread about Publix and you'll see 7-8 different members, just on page 1 of the 5 pages. That's only one question, out of hundreds.
And there are close to 10 Charlotte threads where Publix is mentioned, all with recent posts.
Another long thread about Publix in York County.
The Charlotte forums span well outside Mecklenburg County, and there are only 5 South Carolina forums, so eveyone down here has to pick one of them.
I've got neighbors who have never even heard of CD.
And other friends who know many members. A mixed bag.
