Default Skilled Maintenace jobs in & around Charlotte?

My family and I are looking into moving to NC. We've been there several times to check out the area and visit friends. We spent the majority of time in Raleigh, but have decided it is not doable for us to live there. We have been to Charlotte 3 times and like the area. We are now job hunting. My husband is a facilities technician for a government agency here (CA). He has a total of about 15 years experience. He is looking for a job in the same field. He is responsible for all building maintenance, dealing with subcontractors, vendors, government inspections, etc. It is a skilled maintenance job (should really be a manager, but his employer won't give him the title). He's looking for something similar for a government agency or private company. We know he may have to take a pay cut, but are hoping to keep the pay cut below 30 %. We don't live in the most expensive part of CA, so he doesn't have the top pay for his position in California.

In any case, does anyone know where would be good places to apply for skilled maintenance jobs? Who does the maintenance for the large company building such as Wachovia, Bank of America, etc?

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
