How do places like Showmars handle tips? Does the person who buses the table pick it up? I guess my point is that you don't know for sure that the person who brought you drinks is actually getting the money.
I'll tip if they refill the drinks, but if no one comes by and I go and refill it myself then I don't.
That doesn't actually happen. I have worked in so many different restaurants, and never have I seen anyone do anything to someone else's food. The servers really do want you to enjoy your meal, and if its not what you want they will fix it no problem.
wrong yes it does. I ordered a steak cooked medium and they served it bloody.<very rare..I couldnt eat it and sent it back again asking for it to be medium .They returned it cooked well done and dry...I hate to think what they might have done if I would have really complained.......

That sounds more like incompetence than malice. Honestly, I think your first mistake was ordering a steak at Showmars.
Minimum wage for servers is different from minimum wage for regular workers, and the restaurant is supposed to supplement their pay to make up for the difference between what they made (combined with tips) and minimum wage...
So really, if it's a slow day, they kinda get screwed.
I think the point was that most likely Showmars employees are not technically classified as servers.

I don't know specifically this restaurant, but many small restaurants like this pool tips.
