I'm looking for a really good criminal lawyer for a relative of mine. If anyone know of one, please let me know. Thank you.

George Laughren. Check the spelling. He's rated one of the best around. Also, Joe Ledford. I don't know tele numbers, but they should be easy to find.

Lisa A. Dubs is actually in Hickory, but depending on the case . . . you might consider suggesting her.

Welcome - Law Offices of Lisa Andrew Dubs

As a disclaimer, I do know Lisa personally, but I also know her professional work, as well.

LOL. Luckily, I have never been party to a criminal case. I hope I never shall!

I have known Lisa since the early 80s. We both attended Lenoir-Rhyne and lived in the same neighborhood at one time. I have watched her career b/c I knew her personally, and she is a helluva criminal attorney. She has her own style, so . . . engaging her would be a matter of her style being the right match for the person needing legal services.

You don't want an out of county lawyer. George Laughrun is probably the best in Meck.

I think it depends on what the charge is too. I've had two sets of lawyers in Meck save my butt but one was a specialist.

Perhaps. It is my understanding that Dubs has handled cases being tried in MECK in the past.

I say that because the in-county lawyers are in better with the judges. The judges owe them more favors and they can "judge shop," depending on the severity of the crime. It's really all about who knows who.
