Indian Trail
Does anyone know anything about this area? Is it good, bad, ok? How are the school districts. Any opinions would be great! Thanks.

Hi there,
Depending on where you are, some areas are nicer than others. Did you have a specific subdivision in mind?
Indian Trail is in Union county. Most houses with an Indian Trail address are assigned to either Shiloh or Indian Trail Elementaries, Sun Valley Middle, and Sun Valley High. Shiloh is a year round school at this point. But please be aware, school districts down here are very different than they are in other parts of the country, in particular the northeast. Here the school district is county-wide -- so assignment to a particular school one year in no way guarantees assignment to that same school the next. Especially with all the growth we have been having here -- there are so many schools scheduled to open in the next few years.
Here is the website for Union County schools: http://www.ucps.k12.nc.us/
Feel free to e-mail me any questions you may have.
Take care and good luck!

There is also Sardis and Hemby Bridge schools which both are schools of excellence once again. I believe all of the Indian Trail schools have been named schools of excellence.
My son attends Hemby Bridge. I have found that the schools in this area are great. The have exceeded my expectations. The teachers all seem to really enjoy what they do. Their enthusiasm shows everyday when my son comes home to tell me what he learned that day. The schools are kept clean and the grounds are well maintained. There is a rather large bond up for the November vote. I believe this will add 2 elementary schools, 1 middle and 1 high school to this area within the next few years.
The area itself is very nice. The people have been very welcoming to me and my family. It took me 4 years up north to learn my neighbors names. As soon as the moving truck pulled up here, my neighbors were all here introducing themselves, bringing cookies, and carrying boxes in. I do not think I could have found a place that is any better for me or my family!
