Hi everyone! Does anyone know if a restaurant called flamingos is still in the Matthews/ Indian trail area? It used to be in a little strip center near a lowes foods(I think) - but this was about 5 or 6 years ago. I think the owners were from Alabama and the menu reflected that. Tasty!

I can't think of what restaurant that is, but if you want to find another restaurant in the area that has pretty good southern food, you should try Jonathan's (used to be called Tryon House). Jonathan's is kind of across from the side of Target - on Independence Point Parkway which runs between Matthews Township Parkway and Pineville-Matthews Rd.

The only Flamingo Restaurant I remember is one that was on South Blvd.

In both locations, older and newer! Ridiculous portions of great grilled beef tips. I'd go back to work and just want to nap.

I've eaten breakfast at Jonathan's several times for business meetings. Never had their other food. Keep an eye out for the peacock.

Thanks for the new suggestion! The flamingos I remember had homemade potato chips called rebel reds and they came with a blue cheese dipping sauce-I used to stop there on my way to bonterra if that helps with the location- they had a good seafood platter and a yummy Cajun fish sandwich!

You're right! I just found their website! Yay! Looks like they are still in business! I think the flamingo on the logo must have been stuck in my head- does that make me a birdbrain? Teehee- thanks!
