Hello, I'm a single guy in my early 30s starting work about 30 minutes north of Charlotte. I'd like to find a rental home on the north side of Uptown (1st or 4th ward) or possibly the Southeast portion of Plaza-Midwood.

Does anyone have recommendations regarding apartment brokers/ rental agents or any particularly useful websites. I'm renting a temporary place until I find a more permanent situation. I haven't had much luck on Craigslist.

I'm looking to spend no more than $1300/month for a 2-bedroom place. I'm open to apartments, townhouses or free-standing houses -- preferably at least 1,000 square feet. Parking will also be essential.

It's important for me to be in a walkable, reasonably lively, low-crime area.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Many of the Southend communities are close to your price range. A quick search on almost any apartment finder would do the trick. When you do your search, make sure to stick with 28203 zip code locations.
