I'm new to the Charlotte area and I would like to know where is it safe to take my kids out for Halloween. We live in the Arboretum area. I know I can take them to the mall, but where else can they get candy from. Any idea will be well appreciated.
I also notice a lot of people don't decorate here. Is that like a Down South thing. Ya'll just lame like that . I'm originally from NY and people are always decorating.
I live in a good neighborhood, but only had one or two knocks at the door last year. And I had my porch light on... I think kids nowadays think it's too much hassle to go walking all over the place for candy that they could just buy on their own.

Get used to it not being like New York, it will make your life easier.
And y'all is a contraction of you all. Not sure what ya'll is a contraction of... *** ball?

If you're new to Charlotte, how have you noticed people don't decorate? It's only October 5th! Give it a few weeks.
There's good information in this thread about trick-or-treating in various neighborhoods:
I bet you'll find someplace good! Ask the families in your neighborhood where they go. It's possible you'll get a lot of "trunk or treat" answers, where the families celebrate at a festival or party at a church, and everyone gives candy from their car in the parking lot, but you'll also find folks who still go from house to house. Have fun!!

Duh, I was going to say the same thing!
Asking for help, then putting down the South. Hopefully you don't stay long with that attitude, NewLifeStyle.
My neighborhood is almost like Christmas when it comes to Halloween, my kids are afraid to go to some houses, they are decorated so well.
I guess we have better things to do than start decorating almost a month before the 'holiday'.
One thing you will like - going trick or treating in short sleeves and not wearing a winter jacket under the costume.

I have a gut feeling s this is going to be a chilly Halloween.
