Such a heart-breaking tragedy. I met this boy when he swam at MPHS. He made a great impression on me.

The articles on the Observer are constantly changing and make no sense. Right now it's saying that he attended the UNC-NC State football game on Saturday and then later on states that when he didn't show up for the game, his friends got nervous. Why would his friends get nervous? Why would they have a search party looking for him but not bother to call 911 or campus police? How did they find him in such a remote place. Someone had to know he was there. Why would he climb 40 feet up a conveyor belt completely on his own? This story makes no sense whatsoever.

I hope his parents have been given better information than the Observer is recieving.

Chuckles - I never read that he went to the game only that he was observed drinking alcohol Saturday morning and didn't show up for the game.

I agree with you - I can't figure out why would he climb a 40 foot conveyor belt - alone. That doesn't make any sense to me. I hope this wasn't hazing but it seems the most likely scenario to me.

This is every parents nightmare. So very sad.

It's beyond a nightmare. The article has changed again. Still doesn't make any sense at all though. And all of the kids that I know who knew him keep insisting a car was involved. Just bizarre.

Could there possibly have been fraternity hazing involved?

Such a waste of such a promising young life
