Me too. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I think Phil Collins is great!

Old timer here.....Found my ticket stubs to 2 Charlotte Rush concerts. Dec 4, 1981 & March 25, 1983, the John Butcher Axis band opened. What ever happened to them. I use to not really like Rush before 1980. Geddy Lee's voice was just too annoyingingly high. But something resonated one day and I realized they were pretty awesome. Honestly though, after the Signals album I kinda lost track of them. Curious if they played Working Man or Bastille Day last night. Two great oldies.

Wow, we are really out of the loop. I had no idea they were going to be in Charlotte again. My husband is going to be very disappointed.

I don't remember them playing Working Man and I am not sure about Bastille Day. Two songs that I wish they would have played are Red Brechetta (sp?) and Limelight. But I guess with 20 albums, it'd be hard to cover everything even in 3 hours time.

I also saw Rush in the early eighties. Seems like it was a Rush/Black Sabbath concert at the old coliseum? Anybody remember?

I went to numerous Rush shows back then, and I've never seen Black Sabbath. IMO they are too different to tour together, but that's nothing more than my opinion. Take that for what it's worth.

For some reason I didn't write the opening band for Rush on the back of the '81 ticket like I usually did. OTOH, The Black Sabbath stub I have (old Charlotte Coliseum) from 2-26-'82, George Hatcher Band & Molly Hatchet opened. That hardly seemed like a match made in heaven, but those were big bands at that time. I don't recall Sabbath & Rush on the same ticket, not in Charlotte anyway.
