Default Belmont, Cramerton (near Charlotte)

We are considering a move to the Belmont - Cramerton area for a job opportunity. We would like to live in either Belmont or Cramerton or within a 10-15 minute drive of this area. I'm very tired of long commutes.

My wife and I are in our 50's and the children are grown, so schools are not an issue. We like small town/suburban living. We are looking for a house with about 3000 square feet, fairly new (less than 10 years old) hopefully within the range of $250,000 - 350,000.

We are looking for good quality of life, low crime, decent shopping and restaurants, and friendly people.

Do you think we will find what we are looking for in this area? Are the people in this area open and accepting of "outsiders" moving in from out of town?

I would appreciate any information about the pro's and con's of this area.

Thanks.

Belmont is on our short list - for us, it's mainly because of the schools--Excellent..however, since that is a non-issue for you, it's not a deal breaker.

Belmont has some LOVELY homes...but they do seem to be a bit pricey, however, well worth it just from what I see. We are having a hard time finding a home we like in the price range you mention as that is our price range as well.

We are on a house hunting mission the second week of October and will be viewing both the area and the selection of homes available. I'd be happy to report back what we discover.

My family and I lived in Belmont from '91-'98 and loved it. It has all you said you were wanting. I would highly recommend Belmont!

Yes, I am an LSU Tiger fan. As a matter of fact, I am watching LSU kick --- against Mississippi State, 35 - 3 at the half. I live in the New Orleans area (Slidell) and my son just graduated from LSU last May. My other son graduated from Alabama so I pull for Ala too.

Woo hoo!! Don't our boys look great???

Here in Charlotte we have an alumni group and get together for all the games at a local sports bar. They subscribe to Tiger Vision for us and in turn we buy lots of food and beer from them

There are many folks here with Louisiana connections, I think you would love the area.
